Meet Coconut! This black (carries red) beauty is my seven years young A2/A2 registered (ADCA #042580) PHA and chondro free family milk cow, and she’s looking for a new family to train. Coconut is currently being dried off.
Coconut is excited to share that she has another bun in the oven that is expected to finish baking in June. Her latest mate is Freedom Farm’s Ragtime, a homo polled A2/A2 black bull that carries red and dun.
Coconut is an excellent mama! She has birthed unassisted her previous two calves (I did not have her for her other births). She is good in all 4 quarters and has nice long hand-milking teets. I have hand milked her the vast majority of the time, but she also has had exposure to machine milking. She can easily be groomed and even stands nicely for an electric razor. She is halter broke, leads easily and loads easily into a trailer. Coconut was grass fed by her previous owner, but we do not have the pasture space so she is currently grain fed as well. During peak production she gives over a gallon while calf-sharing or 3 gallon per day if not. Initially a California girl, Coconut made her way to Evansville, Indiana, a couple of years ago. Since then, she has tested clean for TB, Johnes, BVD, BLV, and brucellosis in Nov 2023 (closed herd). Coconut will also come with the three remaining Ragtime straws. She is a well-traveled lady and excited for her next adventure.
